What are credits?
Credits are used to pay for AI model usage on the platform. Each model has a per-token price in credits. Pro and Business plans include monthly credits that reset each billing cycle. You can also purchase additional credits at any time.
What happens if I run out of credits?
If you run out of included and purchased credits, your assistants will stop responding until you purchase more credits or upgrade your plan.
Do purchased credits expire?
No. Purchased credits never expire. Included credits from your plan reset each billing cycle and cannot accumulate.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Absolutely. Upgrade or downgrade at any time. When upgrading, you get immediate access to the new plan's features and credit allocation. When downgrading, the change takes effect at your next billing cycle.
Is there a self-hosted option?
The OpenClaw core is open-source and can be self-hosted. OpenClaw Cloud runs the same engine, then adds cloud-exclusive features: team collaboration with RBAC, AI-powered skill scanning, one-click OAuth integrations, cron scheduling, a unified credit system, and fully managed infrastructure. What is sandbox execution?
Sandbox execution lets your AI agent install packages, run scripts, do data analysis, and execute arbitrary code in isolated Firecracker microVMs. Each sandbox gets its own kernel — the strongest practical isolation for multi-tenant. Compute is billed per second from your credits. The free trial includes 1 minute/day, Starter gets 5 min/day, Pro gets 30 min/day, and Business gets 2 hours/day.
